An interesting site which is a bit different from the rest. It has the
feel of a club about it, or a bulletin board and there's a forum [called
the Coffee Shop], a notice board, trivia and polls, and some members seem
to be long-time users and familiar with each other. The level of conversation
on the boards is quite trivial though, and the members quite young at a
guess. It has obviously become a meeting place to hang out for some, so
a cross between a dating site and a discussion board.
It's free to join and look, but to do anything more you have to pay. £59.99
a year, £39.99 for 6 months, £29.99 for 3 months, £14.99
for 1 month or £6.99 for 3 days.
It's a UK centric site with all the features of the big international sites, with a location based search which means you can find someone who lives near you. It was apparently developed from feedback from a group of dating site customers, and one of the benefits is that members can meet up, both formally and informally, in groups across the country. So, if you want to build a new social life you could try myUKdate, you might still find your soul mate, but whether you find Mr Right or Ms Right, you could have some fun along the way, and make some friends. It has a friendly feel to it, and newcomers are made welcome immediately, both by the site operators and by other members.
Easy to navigate, and quick to register, this quote from a member probably best sums up the ethos: ' I love the way this site is totally focused on UK members. Now I can mail and flirt online with people I stand a chance of meeting and who understand UK life'.
