Claiming to be the UK's largest dating service with over 2 million members, it says it's free but in fact is only free to register and look or search. If you want to contact anyone, you have to upgrade to paid membership which costs £99.95 a year, £69.95 for 6 months and £39.95 for three months. You can pay for just 1 Month (30 days) which costs £19.95 or 1 week (7 days) for £9.95, a 3-Day Trial (3 days) costs £4.95.
After registering - very brief - before you can search the database you
have to create a Profile, which will include your age, location and characteristics.
You are then free to look and search. Your profile also includes a description,
and this is where it gets slightly annoying as a short description ellicits
the response
'You have not completed the form correctly : We do not accept short descriptions.
Please read the notes on how to write a good description' which some might
find a trifle abrupt if not rude. They obviously have their reasons for
this, and it is probably so that visitors can get a good idea about you
before making contact to see if you are what they are looking for in a soul
mate or casual date.
So you could, if you can afford the fee, meet the love of your life, an old friend, Mr/Ms Right or have a ball with lots of fun, casual dates. It's a way of making friends, and you might meet their friends and ... the signs are that they know what they're doing, have a large database of singles looking to meet people, and are a well-established and competent dating site.
The site is well designed and fast working, with ample explanation and a professional look and feel. But the free claim as a come-on is a black mark. If you're looking for a free site, this isn't it.
